The High School Attached to Harbin Normal University（abbreviated to HSDFZ），founded in 1958, is one of the first province-level key schools and exemplary high schools in Heilongjiang province. It has been confirmed by the Ministry of Education as “the only high school living up to nation-level exemplary construction projects in Three Northeastern Provinces”.
HSDFZ is situated on XueFu Road，Harbin，bordering on many colleges, universities and scientific research institutes，possessing plentiful teaching resources and enjoying a rich academic atmosphere.It is well-known throughout Heilongjiang for its high quality elementary education.

Our objective in student training is overall development, special skills, innovation and morality, while the objective of faculty building is to foster a community of outstanding faculty committed to first-class teaching, lofty moral character and proficiency, professionalism, innovation and practical ability.
Fine environment and complete facilities The campus is enveloped in luxuriantly green grass and fragrant flowers. It is a beautiful garden-like school which provides a quiet and comfortable learning environment place for students.The facilities are complete for study and exercise. There is a soccer field, a basketball court, a volleyball court and a tennis court, eleven labs for physics, chemistry and biology. We have four computer classrooms, four sound labs and three multi-media lecture halls, one library with large quantities of learning resources and several spacious and bright reading rooms, one art teaching center.
Distinguished teachers assembled, teaching quality first-rated HSDFZ is fortunate to have a distinguished faculty possessing a strong commitment to both teaching and research. It is a highly motivated, innovative and professional team. Among them 10 are special-class teachers, 78 senior-level teachers, 5 conferred the titles of core teachers at the national level, and another 18 at provincial level, and 63 at city level.70 teachers have received a master’s degrees and one has received a doctor’s degree.
In the past two decades, HSDFZ has always come out of top among other schools in HeilongjiangProvince in the aspect of entrance rate into institutions of higher learning, serving as one of the major sources of recruitment for China's famous universities like TsinghuaUniversity, BeijingUniversity, and RenminUniversity.There have emerged 6 who won the first in the National College Entrance Exam.
The Elites Education
HSDFZ has been conducting the talented students' education. It has become a cradle for the state elites who have the overall ability and are well prepared in science, humanities, moral, creativity, and innovation.
The students start their own publication, named ChenLu and set up several organizations where they can display their talents. More than 70 students, representing Heilongjiang Province, participated in national , and international Olympic competitions and made great achievements, including Luo Wei and Chang Cheng, who separately won the championships in the 31st, 32nd and the 35th International Olympic Maths Competition with full marks. In 2004, our school students swept all the first-seven ranks in Olympic Maths Competition in Heilongjiang Venue.
Sports & Arts
Since its establishment in 1958, HSDFZ has made tremendous achievements in various fields of secondary education. The students from HSDFZ have participated in various domestic and international competitions for many times on behalf of the school. They have won numerous champions or the second place awards for the school. At the 4th World Middle School Sports Meet, Zhu Shanshan won a silver medal in 100-metre race and a bronze medal in 4×100 race, winning honour for our homeland. Many students’ art works, ice carvings won the prizes in our local province, even in our country. The school’s orchestra often performs at some big concerts, for example Harbin Summer Concert, and their performance was well received by the audience both at home and abroad. The school’s track and field team has not only won the championship many times, but has been keeping the provincial records in the 100-metre race and 200-metre race at the provincial Middle School Sports Meet. In addition, our school skating team has cultivated one national master sportsman, 11 first-class athletes. The achievements reflect the outstanding competences of the students in HSDFZ, and they are also the very result of quality-orientated education of the school.
